Atelier des Lumières
Paris has a new attraction: its first digital fine arts museum, housed in a former iron foundry. Colourful canvases by master artists are projected onto the walls and floor of the museum on a giant scale, allowing visitors to admire their works in a new and different way.
The experience is complemented by carefully chosen music. The opening exhibitions are dedicated to Gustav Klimt and Friedensreich Hundertwasser and accompanied by the immersive video Colours X Colours, which presents painting from a macro perspective. The Atelier's explosion of colours is proving popular with young and old alike since in the dark surroundings of the former foundry you can even admire the projections by sitting on the floor in the middle of the exhibition space.
