This pearl of the Gorenjska region, long considered one of the greatest symbols of the beauty of Slovenia, will enchant you with its fairy-tale appearance. Lake Bled forms the principal element of every view of Bled and is considered by some to be one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the whole of Europe. Spend an active holiday in Slovenia and visit this popular mountain health resort in the midst of unspoilt nature, ideal for a relaxed game of golf with a view of snow-covered peaks, cycling round the lake or swimming in the crystal-clear lake waters. Those who love mountains will be particularly happy here, since this paradise below Triglav offers numerous interesting corners and countless opportunities for hillwalking and hiking, while the weather in Slovenia in summer is a continuous succession of sunny days. Climb up to Bled Castle, watching over the glacial lake from its high cliff. Ride in a horse-drawn carriage along the idyllic lakeside path and treat yourself to a delicious Bled cream slice. Take a traditional wooden pletna boat across the lake to the picturesque island with its little church – once a temple of Živa, the Slavic goddess of love – and climb the 99 stone steps. Ring the church bell and make a wish. Let the finest chefs spoil you in Bled's excellent lakeside restaurants. As for accommodation, why not try one of the luxurious wooden tree houses in Garden Village, where you can enjoy all the comforts of glamping, Bled-style.
